FAQ's
Some
questions can only be answered when you visit us. Others,
you'll find right here.
How
flexible are Bright Beginning programs? We offer an all day program. Our operating hours are from 6:30am-6:30pm with
daily activities beginning at 9am. You may choose the schedule that works best
for your child. Children can come to Bright Beginning for as few as two or
as many as five days a week.
How
will I know what is happening during my child’s day? You are always welcome to visit or call during the day, and when you pick up
your child, you will receive a Daily Activity Report. Your child’s teacher
will note how long they napped, what portion of their lunch they ate, etc.
Their teacher will also describe all of the fun activities that your child
and their friends participated in, and there will always be a little note from
teacher to parent regarding a special moment of their day.
How
will I know that my child is safe while I am at work? Bright Beginning's primary commitment is to the safety and security of your
child. All faculty members are First Aid and CPR trained twice annually. Visitors
are required to present identification and register in the Visitor Log. Alternate
caregivers, authorized by children’s parents, must present identification.
May
I visit my child during their day? Absolutely! Feel free to join him at lunchtime, playtime, anytime! We encourage
and support the home and community partnership. We have several opportunities
for families to be involved in their child’s preschool day.
How
does our small school environment provide a better experience
for my child? At Bright Beginning you are our family. Your child and family will experience
a personal relationship and dedication to your family’s needs. We have
smaller classroom enrollment, low teacher to child ratios and a personal family
feel with a professional edge. We are able to focus on each individual child’s
needs; we believe that in order to better serve our families, we must truly
know who it is we serve.
Will
my child be challenged academically at Bright Beginning?
I want to know that he or she is prepared for kindergarten. Yes. At Bright Beginning we think the best academic preparation is to encourage
your child’s enthusiasm for learning. We teach children HOW to think
and not WHAT to think. Our teachers have a keen interest in your child’s
success. They create lesson plans based on Developmental Guidelines and monthly
themes. By providing individual attention in a small group setting, Bright
Beginning teachers nurture each child’s confidence. Learning to ask questions,
discovering cause and effect, negotiating fair play and making new friends
are all academic building blocks at Bright Beginning. Our goal is to focus
on educating the whole child, paying attention to their physical, emotional,
social and cognitive growth.
How
do Bright Beginning teachers prepare for the classroom
setting? Each of Bright Beginning’s faculty is made up of warm and nurturing teachers

year olds, we keep our ratio at 1:3, for our three and four year old group
the ratio is 1:6 and for our four and five year old group our ratio is 1:8
Do
children receive a report card? We consistently communicate with parents regarding their children's development.
We provide parents with a quarterly progress report called an Individual Learning
Objectives Summary, which tracks your child's progress along with their program's
learning objectives. Parents and teachers also get together two times a year
for a formal conference; however, teachers are available every day to answer
questions.
Does
Bright Beginning provide meals and snacks? Yes, we provide breakfast, lunch and two snacks throughout the day.
What
if my child is allergic to certain types of foods? We require that parents alert us to allergies for inclusion in the child's
medical file. Based on the prohibited foods, an allergy plan is created and
the child's teachers are alerted. When a food on a child's prohibited list
is served, the child receives a substitution.
